Can’t get enough of creating with clay? Set yourself a new challenge with our 6-week wheel throwing course. We’ll get ourselves in a spin and with plenty of practice, you’ll shape stunning creations that are yours to keep. Details: • 5 weeks throwing, 1 week glazing Schedule Feb/Mar 2024: Part 1, Sat 3/2 from 2-4PM Part 2, Sat 10/2 from 2-4PM Part 3, Sat 17/2 from 2-4PM Part 4, Sun 25/2 from 2-4PM Part 5, Sat 2/3 from 2-4PM Part 6, Sat 16/3 from 2-4PM Wheel Throwing: Weeks 1-5 For the first 5 weeks, you’ll learn and refine your wheel throwing techniques. From preparing and wedging the clay, to throwing it and centering it, you’ll learn everything you need to create bowls and cups. You will create at least 2 pieces per throwing session, so you’ll have 10 pieces by the end of our course. At the end of each lesson, you’ll choose the pieces you’d like to have bisque-fired in preparation for Week 6. Glazing: Week 6 In the last week, you’ll have time to glaze your creations. Choose from our wide variety of glazes and stencils as you personalise your pieces in preparation for their final fire. Glaze Firing This is what makes your pieces safe for everyday use. The course fee includes all clay and firing for up to 10 pieces. If there are more pieces that you would like to have finished, you can upgrade at a cost of $20/kg paid at the 6th workshop. Cash or card is welcome. On average, 5 small mugs weigh around 1kg. After the course: 1 week after your workshop, we’ll be in touch with details for how you can collect your very own ceramics. Bookings are strictly limited, so that everyone has a wheel of their own. Book for yourself, with a friend, or as a small group! Workshop Information: When you purchase, you will automatically receive your ticket confirmation document, where you will find our address and information to help you know what to expect for your session. Future Wheel Throwing: After completing our workshop, you are eligible to hire our wheels on site, if you want to keep growing your skills unguided. Gift Certificates: Buying this as a gift? Cancellation Policy
If you can't make your workshop due to unexpected illness, you can transfer your place to a friend or join a future workshop where you can be accommodated. We appreciate you swapping your service wherever possible, but if you are travelling and need a refund we can chat. In the case of rain, the workshop will be moved to our undercover patio. If there is a storm, we will be in contact, as the workshop will need to be postponed. You will have the option to transfer your session date, gift the workshop to a friend or if you need it, a refund. We appreciate your support in rescheduling whenever possible. For our regular workshops: Child discounts are strictly applicable to one child ticket discounted per adult ticket purchased. Coupon misuse can result in your booking being cancelled. Please note: our Children's Pottery Workshops are exclusively for kids, therefore there is no discount for these classes. They have been priced accordingly. Clay Club Members are welcome to use their exclusive discount to rebook the same workshop they have previously attended.
